Mushtaq Ahmed Memon is a Programme Officer at International Environmental Technology Centre of Division of Technology, Industry and Economics. His expert area is waste management including integrated solid waste management for cities, waste and climate change, disaster waste management, e-waste management, eco-towns, and public-private partnerships. He has implemented projects on Integrated Solid Waste Management in India, Lesotho, Peoples Republic of China, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Brazil, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and Honduras.
He has also implemented projects on waste agricultural biomass, e-waste and waste plastics with a focus on converting waste into a resource. He has also assisted to develop Sustainability Assessment of Technologies (SAT). He is currently in charge of the project to support national and local governments in developing national and city level waste management strategies.
