Biogas-fed solid oxide fuel cells for wastewater treatment plants
Research
The European DEMOSOFC project, coordinated by the Department of Energy at the Politecnico di Torino, is aimed at demonstrating the technical and economic feasibility of fuel cells in biogas plants. It has now given the green light to the biggest biogas-fed solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) plant in Europe. The plant involved is the wastewater treatment facility at Collegno, Turin.
