Agricultural biogas in Switzerland
Market and policy
Even though the majority of the over 600 biogas plants installed in Switzerland are powered by sewage sludge, 110 agricultural biogas plants also play a rather strategic role.
Medium-size plants with a capacity of approximately 200 kW and with the majority powered at least 80% with manure, they contribute considerably to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, attention to the plants’ methane emissions is very high, helping to certify their role in climate protection.
The Swiss Association of Agricultural Biogas explains everything on the subject in this Web Talk.
