NGVA Europe: the current situation and 2030 forecast for biomethane in the transport sector
In Europe, the demand for biomethane, both compressed (bio-CNG) and liquefied (Bio-LNG) is increasing.

In Europe, the demand for biomethane, both compressed (bio-CNG) and liquefied (Bio-LNG) is increasing.
As a result, the existing refuelling network is also developing, with about a forth of the existing CNG and LNG stations for the distribution of biomethane already operational and 17% of gas vehicles already powered with this renewable and sustainable fuel! On this basis, the 2030 projections are also very positive: the use of biomethane in the transport sector is in fact expected to reach 12 billion cubic metres, or 40% of the volume of fuel consumed by gas vehicles, with a reduction in CO2 emissions equal to 55%.
All data on the development of the biomethane sector for transport in Europe is available in this new and very interesting Web Talk with the Natural and Biogas Vehicle Association!
