Federmethane supporting the role of biomethane/RNG for Italy’s transport sector: here’s why this must be part of the National Recovery and Resilience plan
Sustainable mobility
Biomethane/RNG is an extraordinary resource for Italy, not only to help make it possible to reach the goal of a more sustainable transport sector, but also to make the most of the country's territory and economy. In light of this, it certainly could not be left out of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the investment program that Italy must present to the European Commission within the scope of the Next Generation EU recovery plan. But how does biomethane fit within Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan? In Italy, are we really exploiting the potential of this resource in the transport sector?
We discussed the issue with Licia Balboni from Federmetano, Italy’s trade association of methane gas distributors for cars, which has long been involved in the development of the sector and at the forefront of this domain with awareness and training programs, such as the recent “From the Land for the Land” project.
