In Italy, biomethane is one of the strategic projects for the relaunch of the country, and there is currently great expectation for the European Commission to give the green light to a new decree for the relaunch of this renewable gas. The main innovation introduced by the decree is undoubtedly the incentives relating to biomethane that also concerns the decarbonisation of industrial uses. In addition, public tenders will be launched to obtain up to 40% contributions on the costs incurred for the construction of new plants or the conversion of existing biogas plants. When will we know more? Once the decree has been approved, the GSE’s application procedures will also be published within 30 days, where it will be possible to find all the details on the characteristics and documentation needed by companies to access the calls for tender.
