Dellabona's farm, located in the province of Brescia, has undergone significant developments in the past few years. Manure produced by its 900 head of cattle is destined entirely for Granarolo, the most important Italian milk production chain. Thanks to a CHP plant of 526 kWe, it is possible to produce enough electricity from animal waste to power the company, whilst the heat energy is used to power the digester. Finally, the digestate is used as fertiliser, with a far superior yield than any chemical fertiliser.
