Germany: to reduce ammonia emissions the contribution of the agricultural sector is key
Agriculture and breeding
Germany has recently set a target to reduce ammonia emissions by 20% by 2030. To achieve this goal, the contribution of the agricultural sector is essential, responsible for 90% of emissions. For companies that rely on a biogas plant, ammonia emissions can be controlled during two key stages: the storage of digestate and the spreading stage. At the Biogas Convention Fabian Lichti explained the challenges in this area.
