The management of these by-products is regulated at the European level and in particular by Regulation 1069/09/EC and Regulation 142/2011/EU. These regulations also oversee the use of ABPs for biogas production. Maria Loizidou, professor at NTU explains how European legislation influences the production of biogas from animal by-products in Greece.
