Separate waste collection is still not mandatory in the UK; what is being done to reverse the trend?

ADBA is working, together with DEFRA, associations and local authorities, to simplify the collection methods and reduce food waste in the first place. It is essential to present a business case to the government to demonstrate how the simplification of the process would reduce the collection costs and to inform people on how they should act. From the point of view of commercial enterprises, the UK has still not made separate waste collection mandatory, unlike Scotland and N. Ireland.
