In 2019 the CCMUA (Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority), a wastewater treatment center in Camden, USA, installed two dual-powered cogeneration plants (biogas and natural gas) of 1.9 MW each, capable of producing 3.8 MW of electricity. The key merit of the project lies in the fact that biogas is produced using wastewater treatment waste, which is then transformed into a renewable and reliable energy source. In addition to this, the plant has enabled the creation of jobs and significantly reduced the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
