Transforming waste water into biomethane/RNG
Applications and technologies
The water management company Aqualia has long been a leader in projects for sustainable biofuel production and use. At its treatment plants, water is separated from sludge and converted into gas based on a fermentation process. This purified, treated gas becomes biomethane/RNG which can be used as fuel. For example Aqualia powers its own vehicle fleets by the biomethane it has produced.
