The VOL-V Group inaugurates a 1.2 MW biogas plant that is perfectly integrated into its local area
Case history
The French VOL-V Group recently unveiled a biogas plant in the Montauban-de-Bretagne area, département of Ille-et-Vilaine. The plant has the capacity to reclaim 36,000 tonnes of organic by-products per year supplied by farmers, food companies and municipalities in the area. With the support of 42 local partner farms, the 1.2 MW plant produces 9,400,000 kWh of electrical energy a year which is supplied to the local grid, 6,000,000 KWh of thermal energy used by nearby greenhouses and several tonnes of digestate used as a fertiliser on farms.
