Oslo, a city immersed in green landscapes, with municipal gardens, electric cars on the road, cycle paths, and the goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2050, was Europe’s Green Capital in 2019. The city still honors this title by continuing to develop new green targets and making climate change management a top priority. Among the various projects developed within this framework, the City has installed a biogas plant that transforms the food waste collected as part of its differentiated waste collection system into fuel, intended to power the city’s public transport.
