Gaec Bon Vent: a sustainable farm in the heart of the Vendée, western France
Case history
The Gaec Bon Vent farm is situated in the heart of the Vendée, in western France. It was here that its seven partners decided to devote themselves not only to livestock and arable farming but also to renewable energy, diversifying their agricultural income and investing in biogas! In 8,500 operational hours annually the 330 kW plant produces enough electricity for 600 homes, as well as thermal energy that is reused for anaerobic digestion, for heating the farm buildings or for making more electricity.
