The Comitato Italiano Gas - CIG (the Italian Gas Committee) - is one of the main organisations involved in the development of biomethane in Italy. Its task is to develop the regulations, assess compliance with these and organise events to shape or communicate the state of the art to the different operators within the sector. As well as monitoring the development of European regulations in the combustible gas sector, at national level the CIG has been issuing technical reports to regulate the biomethane grid feed-in process.
