Alternative plants to maize for biogas production in Germany: recent research
Anaerobic digestion
The choice of substrates for biogas is expanding following the introduction of German government restrictions on the use of some types of plants as biomass. This has led to a steady growth of research into this field aimed at finding viable alternatives to maize, or at increasing its yield while using lower quantities. A number of aspects are addressed in this interview.
