Double crops to increase biomethane/RNG production in Southern Europe
Applications and technologies
The European Parliament supports the development of biomethane/RNG, that should be obtained from the waste material and not from the food which is still edible. Europe is moving in this direction, even though there are considerable differences between the north and south of the continent. This gap may be filled by using double crops and more digestate in the arid zones to increase the level of organic substances in the soil.
