Agriculture, as is now well-known, is one of the major causes of climate change, due to greenhouse gas emissions. It could, however, also represent the solution, according to the French initiative 4pour1000. An annual increase of 4 per 1000 of carbon sequestrated in soils would in fact be enough to compensate for the current growth rate of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. This can be done through a series of agronomic practices described by Jean-Luc Chotte.
