Renewable Energy Package: new targets for 2030
Market and policy
The "Renewable Energy Package", the directive for renewable energy, was revised by the European Commission in view of the new targets for 2030, but also and principally in the light of new technological innovations which have changed the European energy landscape. The Directive provides that in the future renewable energy should prevail within the energy and transport system, covering 35% of total needs. It also envisages an increasingly active participation by consumers who self-produce energy and then sell this to the grid.
