Italy: the “TOC Decree” finally becomes effective

After four years, the “COT Decree” –Total Organic Carbon, Decree 118 dated 19 May 2016, has finally come into force, not least due to the decisive contribution made by the Italian Biogas Consortium (CIB). The new regulation lowers the limit for Total Organic Carbon emissions to 100mg/Nmc, though it excludes the methanic fraction, and represents the reference framework at national level. Together with Christian Curlisi, we look at how to implement the new regulation by 31 December 2016.
