Feed-in tariff in the UK: only 20MW/year of new government-backed projects are predicted as part of the new reform
Market and policy
Matt Hindle, Head of Policy at ADBA, explains the main changes in UK policy. The cuts to the feed-in tariff planned from 1 January 2017, if approved, could lead to a significant decrease in the number of biogas plants installed in Great Britain and would prevent the industry from reaching its full potential. However, as a result of confirmation of the RHI budget until 2021, annual installation of around 20 biomethane plants and 95 biogas plants is predicted.
