All the new incentives for the biogas market in the UK
Market and policy
The new feed-in tariff will come into effect in April 2017, with new energy generation rates (0-250kW plants: around £7£; 250-500kW: £6.5; 500kW-5MW: around £2.5), and the plants eligible for the Renewables Obligation can apply up to 31 March. The biogas and biomethane tariffs have also been reset within the RHI, with the introduction of tariff guarantees.
In the future, according to Thom Koller, Policy Officer of the ADBA, the government should also recognize and support the non-energy benefits of anaerobic digestion.
