Biogas in Latvia: an expanding market
Market and policy
Vilis Dubrovskis, from the Latvian Biogas Association, tells us how the biogas market is evolving in the region. There are currently 57 plants in operation - supplied by agricultural, landfill, waste water and agro-industrial waste - for a total electricity production of 63MW in 2016. Different feedstocks are used to fuel them.
