Adequately manage the water supply, urban waste water and organic waste is crucial in highly urbanized areas such as San Bernardino County in California. Martha Davis illustrates the integrated approach that the Inland Empire Utilities Agency adopts to transform waste into resources: thanks to biogas from wastewater treatment it is possible to feed the system that allows the recycling of water, the only way to get water in a reliable and continuous ways in a region subject to chronic drought such as California.
