An innovative digester in Kenya to improve the quality of life of pastoralists and farmers
Anaerobic digestion
A flexible digester to produce high quality fertiliser and biogas. What are the main benefits for the local population? Less deforestation, better land productivity, and above all energy independence: biogas makes the lives of Kenyan women easier, who use the biogas for cooking.
The digester was initially designed for domestic needs, but can be used on a commercial and municipal level too. Redesigned several times over the years to adapt to user needs, today it is sold in various African nations, and in more than 500 units.
